Chiropractic
Chiropractic focuses on the body’s nervous system and the form of the body (joints and muscles) to address injury and enhance function. It utilizes manipulation of the joints (“adjustments”) and muscles (specialized soft-tissue massage) to bring about pain relief and improved physiologic function. In addition, nutritional therapy and rehabilitative exercises are incorporated to assist in injury recovery and prevention and improved athletic performance.
Licensed Acupuncture
Acupuncture and herbal medicine aid in enhancing athletic performance and injury recovery in a number of ways. Ideal health is defined in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as the proper quantity and movement of qi (energy), blood, yin (moisture), and yang (warmth) in the body, and the absence of any pathological factors (damp, heat, cold, phlegm, wind, dryness) in the body. Acupuncture and herbs promote this ideal balance. Biomedically speaking, acupuncture inhibits pain and relaxes body tissues by stimulating endogenous endorphins (pain-killers) and the nervous system, and increases circulation thereby improving function and performance. Herbal medicines work similarly, but go further in promoting healing injured tissues, decrease swelling, and have anti-viral, -bacterial, -inflammatory, and -oxidant properties.
Excel Therapy Postural Assessment (ETPA)
Our ETPA employs the best techniques and tests to properly analyze your posture and point out the pros and cons of your current state. We study your body from the ground up in a static and dynamic environment and design programs to effectively correct your posture for more comfortable living and greater performance.
Gait Analysis
Our Gait Analysis focuses specifically on how you move. This analysis generally follows the ETPA, however Gait focuses specifically on your feet and legs. We determine whether or not you have high or low arches, knock knees, bow legs, over-pronation or over-supination. We then design our programs specifically for correcting those problems and getting your body into a proper Gait.
